The day is overcast and snow is falling lightly.

A freezing rain warning is in effect for this evening and overnight. At 8:30 am the temperature is -9 degrees C (15 degrees F). Today's high is -3 degrees C (27 degrees F). Overnight it is expected to be warmer with freezing rain: -1 degree C (30 degrees F).

Partly Cloudy, Partly Sunny Day

Today is the calm before the storm - as a snow storm is expected tomorrow.

The day is lovely and not too cold. Today's high is -7 degrees C (19 degrees F). Overnight temperatures of -9 degrees C (16 degrees F) are expected. Snow should begin to fall around 2 am.

A Windy Winter Day

Last night strong winds pelted debris against our windows. Fortunately, there was no damage (that we are aware of... I wonder if a few shingles were lifted on the roof.)

The wind is still blowing, but the day is lovely and clear. At 7:45 am the temperature is -5 degrees C (22 degrees F). Today's high is -1 degree C (30 degrees F), dropping to -10 degrees C (14 degrees F) overnight.

Cloud, Sun, Snow!

Today's weather forecast promises a little of everything... cloud, sun and more snow! (There is already a lot of fresh snow on the ground from yesterday's snowfall.)

This morning the sky is cloudy, the temperature -5 degrees C (22 degrees F) at 7:30 am. The sun should come out sometime this morning, but this afternoon is expected to be snowy again. Today's high is 0 degrees C (32 degrees F) and the overnight temperature is expected to again drop to -5 degrees C (23 degrees F).

Light Freezing Rain, Then More Snow

The weather is mild so there is light freezing rain this morning. As temperatures drop, the rain should change to "mixed precipitation" and then snow.

At 9am the temperature is -2 degrees C (27 degrees F). The high for today is 1 degree C (34 degrees F). Overnight temperatures should go down to -7 degrees C (19 degrees F).

Clear Dawn, Sunny Day

The early morning dawn is clear...

A sunny day is forecast - and it shouldn't be too cold! At 7:15 am the temperature is -13 degrees C (8 degrees F). The high is expected to be -4 degrees C (25 degrees F), dipping to -6 degrees C (21 degrees F) in the evening, before rising again with overnight temperatures of -4 degrees C (25 degrees F)... and snow!

A Partly Cloudy (Sunny) Day

I am looking forward to seeing the sun! Today is expected to be sunny but cooler than yesterday, when the ice softened enough to be scraped up from the road and driveway. (There are still slippery patches.)

Today nothing is expected to melt. At 8:30 am the temperature is -6 degrees C (20 degrees F). This is expected to remain about the same: today's high is forecast to be -6 degrees C (21 degrees F). But overnight temperatures are expected to drop to -15 degrees C (5 degrees F).

Warm and Windy

The temperature has been above freezing all night long, so some snow has melted...

The wind has also knocked the snow from branches. Lots of clouds around, though I can see patches of blue behind fast-moving clouds. There is occasional light rain. Today's high is the current 9am temperature of 2 degrees C (36 degrees F) with the temperature going down overnight to -9 degrees C (16 degrees F).

Overcast - with Freezing Rain Warning

The day is overcast, but the bad news is that freezing rain is expected this afternoon.

At 10 am it's -5 degrees C (21 degrees F). Today's high will be this evening with temperatures of +5 degrees C (41 degrees F). Overnight temperatures are expected to stay around the freezing mark: 0 degrees C (32 degrees F).

Sunny Sunday

The sky was clear at dawn...

The good news is that we expect sunny skies all day...

Today's high is expected to climb from the 9am temperature of -19 degrees C (-2 degrees F) to -7 degrees C (19 degrees F). The overnight temperature is forecast to be -8 degrees C (18 degrees F).

There appears to be a warming trend - a mixed blessing, as in winter the rule is: clear and COLD; warm and CLOUDY!

Cloudy Morning, Sunny Afternoon

The morning is breaking in a grey kind of way. There must be heavy cloud cover overhead. The forecast is for a cloudy morning - with a possibility of snow flurries - and a sunny afternoon. At 7:30 am the temperature is -17 degrees C (0 degrees F). Today's high is expected to be -1 degree C (12 degrees F) with an overnight temperature of -17 degrees C (1 degree F).

Another Sunny Day

Today is again sunny and cold.

At 8:30am the temperature is -19 degrees C (-2 degrees F). Today's high is forecast to be -13 degrees C (9 degrees F). The overnight temperature is expected to be -15 degrees C (5 degrees F).

Another Sunny January Day

The sun is shining again! At 9:15 am it's -17 degrees C (0 degrees F). The high today is expected to be -5 degrees C (25 degrees F). The overnight temperature is forecast to be -15 degrees C (5 degrees F).

Today is sunny! (But not warm.)

Winter Storm Warning in Effect

The early morning sky is overcast. I didn't notice fresh snow on the ground, but according to the online weather network, it is snowing lightly. It is expected to continue all day. There is a storm warning both for heavy snow (in bands) and freezing rain in some parts. This is supposed to end tonight. So I guess we'll see what happens. The current 7 am temperature is -9 degrees C (15 degrees F). The high today is supposed to reach -2 degrees C (28 degrees F). Overnight temperatures are supposed to go down to -11 degrees C (12 degrees F).

Sunny Day Ahead

It does look like winter out there! No mistaking it!

But (on the positive side) the day ahead is sunny, if cold. The 8 am temperature is -24 degrees C (-11 degrees F). This afternoon should reach -5 degrees C (23 degrees F). Our overnight temperatures (with possible mixed precipitation) are expected to be -2 degrees C (28 degrees F). I guess mixed precipitation means freezing rain is possible.

Our Cold "Snap" Continues

Yesterday was cold - and today the same trend will continue, according to the forecast. Our pre-dawn morning temperature is-23 degrees C (-9 degrees F). The high today is -14 degrees C (7 degrees F) with a predicted overnight temperature of -18 degrees C (0 degrees F) into Monday morning. (Another INDOOR DAY?!)

Sunny But Cold

After the snow of the past few days...

... we are supposed to have cold but sunny weather ahead! Today's high is -17 degrees C (1 degree F) with overnight temperatures of -24 degrees C (-11 degrees F).

More Freezing Rain and Snow

As I sit here at 9 am I can hear the light taps of freezing rain on the window - almost like the sound of hail. It is supposed to change to snow during the day - but this is another day I'm glad I don't have to go outside.

Right now the temperature is -4 degrees C (24 degrees F). This afternoon it is supposed to be -1 degree C (30 degrees F) with overnight temperatures of -21 degrees C (-6 degrees F).

The GOOD NEWS is that tomorrow is supposed to be sunny - though cold!

Light Snow... and Freezing Rain Predicted

The predicted snow storm didn't happen in our area. And - although the online weather website says that we are experiencing light snow, we aren't. (Not in my neighborhood, anyway.)

But the forecast is for snow all day - and possible freezing rain. The current 8:45 am temperature is -9 degrees C (15 degrees F). Today's high today is -3 degrees C (27 degrees F). It should actually rise to an overnight temperature of -2 degrees C (28 degrees F). A good day to stay inside!
